Victory for Reineke in Ohio 88th House District Republican PrimaryTiffin, OH —Republican write-in candidate Bill Reineke issued the following statement on last night’s victory:

“I am truly humbled by the overwhelming support for my candidacy during last night’s primary. My main goal when launching this campaign was to fight for the needs of District 88 in Columbus. Thanks to your help, we are one step closer to that goal.

For now, it’s on to November. My campaign’s focus will remain on job creation, expanding educational opportunities, and pushing the expansion of transportation options in our district. I also look forward to working with Republicans statewide to ensure we keep Ohio moving in the right direction by sending Governor Kasich and the rest of our Republican leadership back to Columbus.

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Representative Rex Damschroder for his service to the district over the last four years.”

The final vote count had Reineke winning with 48.6 percent of the three-way race. Rhonda Damschroder took 35.8 percent of the vote, and Richard Geyer came in third with 15.5 percent, respectively. 4,621 total write-in votes were cast across Seneca and Sandusky counties.
